My clients, a young and sophisticated family, took on this 6500 square foot home that had been decorated in an English style with lots of floral chintz and some Georgian detailing. What they really wanted was a home with far more of a glam appeal. I saw great potential in the space.
For example, in the living room we gutted cabinets, the fireplace and bar, replacing them with finely lacquered Macassar Ebony woods and paneling of rift cut oak. Trimwork was painted a black gloss and walls covered in custom camel-colored silk wallcovering. I chose furnishings that echoed a French Deco style mixed with contemporary and vintage pieces. The result is a sophisticated palate for living and entertaining.
